Starting from 23th March, Egyptian and Japanese experts have started working on Tutankhamun’s chariot and bed which is displayed in the Egyptian Musem in Tahrir, preparing for transporting them to the Grand Egyptian musem. Dr. Medhat and Dr. Okada worked together with documentation team and wood conservation team in checking the condition and doing first aid for the two artifacts. They applied Japanese paper facing on the weak parts of both artifacts, in order to secure them until they arrive to the Grand Egyptian Musem conservation center (GEM-CC).

X-Ray photography has also begun in the Egyptian Musuem in Tahrir on the target artifacts. Mr. Matsushima and Egyptian experts used the new protable X-Ray radiographic device to check the weak points and the structure of these artifacts. So that they can take special care to these weak points during the transportation.
