Starting from the 17th of May, the transportation team from both the Egyptian and Japanese sides started working together on packing Tutankhamun’s ritual bed and chariot. Mr. Eissa, the General Director of First-Aid, Packing and Transportation in GEM, along with Mr. Tokuda and Mr. Masada from Nippon Express Ltd., worked together with other transportation team members on moving the ritual bed and chariot from their showcases to the special boxes designed by the transportation team for packing.

On 23rd of May, Tutankhamun’s ritual bed and chariot were transported from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the Grand Egyptian Museum Conservation Center by the transportation team with the assistance of wood experts. Dr. Khaled El-Anany, the Minister of Antiques also attended the transportation to witness this great event with many Egyptian and international media.
