The Textile team has started discussing the specification of the mount. Mount is a essential factor in terms of both exhibition and preventive conservation. Textile team, informed with final display design, started discussion on mounting methods with many stakeholders including display planners, curators, and conservators. In the meetings, 4 different types of sample mounts which was produces in Japan as trial were presented.

 

Many textile target artifacts of King Tutankhamen are planned to be exhibited at the Phase 1 Opening of GEM. So, it is an urgent job to prepare the mount according to the opening schedule. Textile team had already created a table of target artifacts and categorized them by type of mount suitable for each object and Japanese and Egyptian are now proceeding with  drafting the drawings for specification of mount design for each target artifact.
