The Egyptian and Japanese Mural paintings team conducted the conservation treatment on Seshem-Neferu’s mural paintings.

First, the experts prepared for the fabrication of a Prototype mount for the murals of Seshem-Neferu to not only support the backside but also make them portable and easy to handle. Then, they proceeded with the consolidation process for the surface and the outer sides of the murals, by applying Cyclododecane sheets on the fragile parts to stabilize the murals while turning them over.

After turning the murals over the experts proceeded with investigating the backside of the paintings and discussed the best method for the conservation treatment. Also, they discussed whether the XRF examination is needed.

In addition, they applied the same method on three other pieces from an unknown tomb, provably excavated by De Morgan.
